Students Support

Library: The college has a separate library with a considerable number of text-books, reference books, periodicals, magazines and journals. The library is run by the Librarian under the guidance of the college authority. The library is run by the Librarian under the guidance of the college authority. The library can be used by a student as per the rules of the concerned authority and the students belonging to SC, ST, OBC and other minority groups may receive ten books at a time. The college has a central library with an adjacent reading room. It has a nice collection of books amounting to the figure of 12,905. (Including reference books, periodicals, magazines and journals). The college library is fully automated using software with OPAC (Online Public, Access Catalogue) facility. Student studying in general stream are entitled to borrow three books at a time. Students belong to the SC/ST Category may borrow six books at a time if necessary. Students may also access the internet from the three computers at the library.


Canteen: A Canteen is provided top serve refreshments.


Stipend and Free Studentship: 10% of the students in the Degree course are awarded full free studentship by the Governing Body subject to the fulfillment of rules and regulations as laid down by the Government.
In addition to financial assistance given to poor and meritorious students from Aid Fund, S.C.,S.T., OBC, Minority, Physically challenged students are guided to get stipends by the State Govt. subject to submission of the necessary documents to the Govt. they are also provided with the facilities of Remedial Coaching classes, Coaching classes for entry into services, etc.
However, facilities stated above may be withdrawn on charges of gross misconduct, irregular attendance, indiscipline etc.


Soudamini Das Memorial Fund: This fund has been created with the donation made by Prof. B. C. Das, Ex-Teacher-in-charge of this college, in memory of his mother. The students securing the highest marks in Annual Examination along with other attributes are entitled to get special award from this fund.


Common Room: The college has a separate common room for boys which are kept open during the college hours. The construction of a girls’ common room will be our foremost priority once the second floor of the building is complete. There are some other arrangements for various indoor games for the students.


Student’ Union: All the students of the college are member of the Students’ Union which functions through a committee of elected members amongst the students. The aims of the union are to provide a common platform for the students belonging to different communities where they may mix freely and work in close co-operation with one another in an atmosphere of goodwill and harmony. The Union arranges social functions, fresher’s well-come, educational tour, debates, seminars, sports and games Swarasati Puja etc., and it is governed by a constitution.


Close circuit camera: There are eight close-circuit cameras installed at various points within the college pre-mises in order to ensure internal security.


E-classroom: The college has introduced modern teaching facilities through e-classroom which is equipped with audio-visual; teaching apparatus such as microphone and projector.


Students’ Safety And Security Measures: The college is concerned about maintaining Students Safety and Security Measures. We have fire-fighting equipments. All the members of staff have been trained to handle fire-fighting equipments, so that they can combat with fire as and when required. In case of any emergency or unforeseen situation our students can easily come out through to the open field safe and sound.
